Montana Love http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2018/4/montana-love It's an awesome time when a couple asks me to photograph their wedding in another state and I then get to add a vacation on to it. My dear friend Erin lives in Kalispell so after the wedding that we both took part in we headed out into the great outdoors on Montana to soak in the summer. It's April as I am writing this and winter is just not letting go, so I am basking in these images right now. I took a bunch of solo treks in Glacier National park, both times going on the high line trail, but once from the top and once from the bottom. It was extremely crowded in the park. Hard to find parking in both instances. And I did drive, which I am not the most proud of, but I want to take advantage of the short time I had to explore to get into the spaces I wanted to. I had an encounter with a mountain goat which was pretty awesome, the wild flower situation was on fleek and I was pretty much in my element the whole time. No special gear, just handkerchief and my camera and my trusty hat cause those sun rays have done enough damage for my life. We also had a kayak trip on a lake on the other side of the park and also a river float with some lovely friends of hers that were so full of life that it made you want to make your life bowl bigger and dig in like they did. It was good medicine to be out there.

T. Family // Western Massachusetts Family Photographer // Bookmill Portraits http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2018/3/t-family---western-massachusetts-family-photographer---bookmill-portraits Rachel and Ben were one of my first couples that I photographed for their wedding. Rachel has been a long time friend of mine since high school, and we have seen each other intermittently through the years as she has built an amazing business in D.C. as a jeweler. You should  go check her stuff out www.rachelpfeffer.com. She made my engagement ring, I have pizza necklaces of her's, a honey comb hair piece... seriously you need to go check out her eclectic amazing style. We have also always had a friendship that picks up right where it left off. I was so so excited when she contacted me for portraits with her new baby, and why not have a session at the ever cool Book Mill. I always want more time in my sessions, because I could seriously take photos forever especially of cute babies like this, but I always love catching up with old friends. I wish this little family all the happiness in the world, and look forward to seeing them grow!

B. Family // Newborn Lifestyle Photographer // Maine http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2018/3/b-family---newborn-lifestyle-photographer---maine I photographed this family several years ago with their daughter, who had the curliest cutest hair. They welcomed a son last month and I happened to be visiting in Portland so I could take a trek to their house for portraits. His nursery had the prettiest light on the bed, and even though mom and dad were not psyched about getting their photos taken, I insisted that they should at least have a few for his sake later in life. And boy for my sake to, because if I had missed some of these moments I know I would have been bummed. Such a sweet little family!

N. New Baby Family Lifestyle Session // Western Massachusetts http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2018/2/n-new-baby-family-lifestyle-session---western-massachusetts From their wedding to their new baby new house photos, it is always wonderful to photograph this family. Their new baby girl was such a smiley happy little baby, who gets plenty of dancing time when her parents are trying to get her to sleep. I am so happy for them!

M. Family Lifestyle Session // Providence, RI http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2018/2/m-family-lifestyle-session---providence-ri Another family that I have been photographing through the years as they grow! Little baby M. made his Earth side back in November and had some trials in his first few months. Finally the whole family was healthy enough for a visit from me, and I think it was perfect timing. It was a warmer day in January, the snow had mostly melted and this family gave me another signature welcome to their home. I am so happy to be able to capture moments for them.

Forest Waterfall Maternity Session // Western Massachusetts http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2018/2/forest-waterfall-maternity-session---western-massachusetts It's an amazing thing for me to be able to photograph the people that I have known for so many years in my life, as they go through more new stages. I've known Courtney since elementary school and was neighbors with her mother for many years too. She looks so gorgeous pregnant with her first baby boy, and we had a mild day along the river banks and waterfalls in Sunderland for some very pretty back drops. Wishing her lots of luck as she awaits his arrival.

A. Newborn Family Lifestyle Session // Western Massachusetts http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2018/2/a-newborn-family-lifestyle-session---western-massachusetts I was so happy for my high-school friend, Michelle, when I found out earlier this year that she was pregnant with a little boy. I had photographed her first little girl five years ago, as part of my photo a day project. This little boy was actually not so little, at just over 13 lbs, but he was such a little love and once we were able to get him to sleep he took a deep long nap. His sister brought a bunch of energy to the shoot, but she was the best big sister holding him tight and giving him some love for a few sweet photos. So happy for this family and happy to be able to capture more moments for them.

V. Newborn Lifestyle Session // Western Massachusetts http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2018/2/v-newborn-lifestyle-session---western-massachusetts I was so excited when I walked into this little family's home with the Southwest facing windows and the gorgeous winter light pouring in. Little V was such a precious little lady, cooperating very nicely with me interrupting her new daily routines with my big black eye in her face for a few hours. I love capturing the first few months of life for a human. It's a huge reminder of all the factors that make us the way we are, and how much a lot of parents go through with the trails and wonders of their new responsibility. These two looked like they would just do fine with it all, as they were just about bursting with joy to be with their new daughter.

Emily & Conor // Holiday Wedding Celebration http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2018/2/emily-conor---holiday-wedding-celebration Emily is another former high school friend and field hockey team mate of mine, and when she contacted me to be a part of her holiday wedding celebration I was so honored. She and Conor are to be married later this year in the fall, but her Grandfather, the patriarch of her close family was diagnosed with cancer this past fall and she wanted to have him witness her wedding before he passed. She also expressed a wish to have all of her family together for a holiday celebration, since now that everyone is older, less time is spent together at that time of year. There were also two new babies in the family and she wanted to focus on photos of them in their first year. So within a month Emily had put together a wonderful space and group of people and was anxious to make sure her Grandfather would be able to make it. The night before the big day, Emily messaged me to tell me her Grandfather's condition had declined and he would not be able to make it to the celebration and could I meet her at the hospice, so she could have some photos of her in her wedding dress with him.

It was a beautiful, very touching scene to witness. Emily dressed so regally and her Grandfather having just enough energy to give her a few kisses and have a giggle about the leopard print pillow on his bed. It was all very quick, for we wanted to give him enough energy to watch the ceremony via video. The incredible power of technology!

We headed through the ice storm to the Log Cabin in Holyoke, the trees covered in glossy ice, and the fog just resting on the hill tops. Emily got back into her dress with the help of her mom, while I was taken aback by all the gorgeous details Emily and the team at the Log Cabin and put together. Emily really wanted to go all out to make it a happy time and place while everyone was dealing with their grief. Conor and her first look was sweet and simple and a quick portrait session moved us back inside for the ceremony. Emily's brother, Andrew, officiated and everyone was all smiles and laughter. Family portraits moved into dinner and opening of gifts. Emily had a second dress her "Mrs. Claus look" that she finished the evening in. I think it was such a beautiful and generous thought for Emily to put together such a wonderful celebration for her family and especially her Grandfather on his last day earth side. She let me know the following morning that he had passed in the early hours. I wish her and Conor a year that reminds them of all the positive things in life and a start to their union that will show their support of one another during the tough times and the best times.

Laura & Mike Elopement // Backyard, Northfield MA http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2017/12/laura-mike-elopement---backyard-northfield-ma This wedding was the perfect wrap up to my fall wedding season. I will forever and always look to small weddings as being my favorite. There is a low level of stress for all people involved, and there is such a sweet under current of emotion that wraps everyone up. Laura had a vision of Oriental carpets and candles surrounding an arbor, and boy did it come to fruition. All the warm tones of the days just made the cooler air temperature more bearable. I love November for weddings too, the light is gorgeous all day.

They had their first look just down the road from their house in a field overlooking the hills. We then tromped around the field a bit for portraits, before jumping in the car to warm up just a bit. I knew I had wanted to bring them over to the woods a little ways down the road, when I had been scouting a few days before. I was so happy it was a gorgeous sunny day, because the under growth of the forest was perfectly lit up and golden.

Back at the house we warmed up, took family portraits. There was laughter, pups and also lots of managing tears already. I can't help but cry when I see someone cry, so I was pretty much melting the whole time. After a fire was made, candles lit and the family gathered again in the house, Hannah of Grace Ceremonies quickly went over the choreography of the ceremony. Mike lead the way to the ceremony spot with family and dogs in tow. Laura and her father came down the aisle of greeting a glittering of tears in everyone's eyes. Hannah worked her magic while the sunset slowly set over the hills and Mike and Laura made their promises to one another. A champagne toast around the bonfire wrapped up the coverage of events, while the family all went to enjoy a dinner at the Farm Table. I loved this day.

M. Family http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2017/12/m-family This little kid started out being really curious and excited about my camera being around. He had a teepee set up in his living room and there just happened to be some lights stung up so I used them to my advantage. Then there was a lot of running around before a wagon and a couple of cars were added to the scene and stayed our constant companion for the duration of the session. It was heart breaking to see him get so upset when we asked to take the wagon out for a few photos. So it stayed put and we worked with it. It was so cold but we ran around and got bossed around by this little guy. I would say the majority of the images he is actually crying or screaming in but we made it work with the magic of the camera and lots of warm clothes on.  It was an hour long adventure for sure!

B. Family http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2017/12/b-family A morning filled with all these happy people and cute faces. It was amazing. We had the perfect little glow light corner in Deerfield too. I have photographed little Heidi a few times now, but it was so fun to meet her cousins and her new baby brother. If all of the family is already gathered for the holidays, might as well take advantage of the time to get photographs of everyone.

P. Family http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2017/12/p-family I was so happy to hear from Elise. The social media world is amazing. How did photographers get work before it? I had not seen Elise since middle school, and it was so cool to see her, her husband and their little boy. He was SO HAPPY. Look at that smile on his face. We spent some time in the woods in Deerfield before making it over to Old Deerfield for some barn action. And the light was amazing and it wasn't freezing. Wins all around.

P. Family http://timebandit-photography.com/blog/2017/12/pe-family Again, one of my favorite things about working with my camera, is that it presents opportunities to reconnect with friends from high school. It was so lovely meeting this little guy, who had a tough start in life but with love from his parents and family he pulled through. He was just the cutest. Sometimes not interested in playing along with our game of trying to get him to smile at the camera, but when he did it felt like I had won pot of gold.

Chestnut Mountain Christmas Tree Farm in Hatfield was an amazing backdrop for us too!
