Emily and Kenny's day was so perfectly laid back and filled with so much sweetness. Every detail showed the care and love this couple holds for their family they hold dear. They started the day early, getting ready and a quick little first look, before heading up the hill at the ever amazing ceremony site at the Montague Retreat Center. The new growth green color that carpeted the forest and lawn set the scene for the delicate grace that this little family carried as they made their promises to one another. Their son Lennon frolicked about as any toddler would do, and created little candid moments through out the more formal parts of the ceremony, amongst an intimate gathering of immediate family members. Lots of hugs and kisses followed the pronouncing of husband and wife, and then it was my turn to act silly to get the attention of the little ones. Knowing some of the family members from previous photo shoots, it made it all the more special capture these portraits.
It was a nice warm spring day, so Emily took of her shoes for our relaxed couple's portrait time, and then it was nap time before the big party in the later afternoon. The quiet morning led into a bustling, welcoming crowd who came to enjoy drinks and an early dinner provided by Hillside Catering to celebrate the couple. Emily and Kenny's first dance was again marked by a quiet, unassuming sweetness of a couple who was sure of their commitment to one another, and their over flowing love for their little son. Kenny's father and brother made a wonderful little speech for best wishes to the couple and their blossoming family. After dinner a live band, the most amazing cupcakes and lawn games kept everyone entertained as the afternoon crept into golden hour, and I was just happy to have been swept up into all the warmth and happiness. Cheers to this happy, steadfast couple and their sweet, sweet family!
