It's an awesome time when a couple asks me to photograph their wedding in another state and I then get to add a vacation on to it. My dear friend Erin lives in Kalispell so after the wedding that we both took part in we headed out into the great outdoors on Montana to soak in the summer. It's April as I am writing this and winter is just not letting go, so I am basking in these images right now. I took a bunch of solo treks in Glacier National park, both times going on the high line trail, but once from the top and once from the bottom. It was extremely crowded in the park. Hard to find parking in both instances. And I did drive, which I am not the most proud of, but I want to take advantage of the short time I had to explore to get into the spaces I wanted to. I had an encounter with a mountain goat which was pretty awesome, the wild flower situation was on fleek and I was pretty much in my element the whole time. No special gear, just handkerchief and my camera and my trusty hat cause those sun rays have done enough damage for my life. We also had a kayak trip on a lake on the other side of the park and also a river float with some lovely friends of hers that were so full of life that it made you want to make your life bowl bigger and dig in like they did. It was good medicine to be out there.
